Top-of-mind: Beaded placket cardigan from Banana Republic
Do I need another cardigan?* Of course! I’m loving the color of this cardigan from Banana. And I think I must have a thing for purple right now since one of my last “Top-of-mind” posts was for this purple cami from J.Crew.
Super cute details… I love the pocket and the beading on the placket. Now if only I could pull off the chunky jewelry and a fedora look without looking like a hobo.
*Comma Mister thinks I need to visit cardigan rehab.
Top-of-mind: Twisted neck back zip from LOFT
While not the cheeriest name (LOFT’s merchandisers may need some Prozac), this is a really cute top. I’m not sure if the autumn yellow would pair well with my pale skin, but I really like the rich fall feel of this one. It would, however, pair well with dark wash jeans for a casual Friday.
This also screams for cute bright flats like these mustard Seychelles from 6pm.com or these Fossil flats from Zappos.com. And if that felt too matchy matchy or hot for summer, I would consider these Cynthia Vincent stone sandals* from Bluefly.com.
*Please note that I refuse to acknowledge the word ‘thong’ in their proper name.
Top-of-mind: Silk cord cami from J.Crew
You can never have too many camisoles. I love the color and name of this silk cami from J.Crew. (They call it orchid shadow – tres romantique!)
The pull cord strings make it unique and a bit sexy, but it could still be dressed up for work with a cardigan.
The silk cord cami was just added to J.Crew’s final sale so it is now $70, and with the 20% off code “EXTRA20” you can get it for $56! I wouldn’t usually pay more than $50 for a cami, but telling myself if was a shirt would make me feel better about it.
Top-of-mind: Luxe Tank from Banana Republic
I am starting a trend of actually purchasing my “top-of-mind” features! I first bought one of these sleeveless luxe tanks from Banana Republic back in March for the full price of $29. I never hate paying full price, but I couldn’t leave the store without the perfect shade of smoky charcoal* and all those elegant layers of satiny trim. I usually wear it under a suit jacket or cardigan, but I also wear it on the weekends with jeans or bermudas.
Well, it was my lucky day last week as I found a few more shades – navy* and misty blue* for $15 each (thank you 30% off luxe combined with a 25% off your entire purchase discount). Aaah, the perfect storm of sales promotions!
*I am also realizing that 95% of my clothing is in the blue/gray color spectrum. Um, that’s totally normal, right?
Top-of-mind: Dobby Military Jacket from LOFT
Here’s my work top of the week (that I actually purchased!). The Dobby Military Jacket from Ann Taylor Loft was just $53 during the Memorial Day 40% off sale. Score!
I love that it has a subtle military style while still being girly and dressed up. Maybe I’ll wear it with all those cute t-shirts I’ve been acquiring.
